1 flipflop wines Review on Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:55 pm

Underdog Wine Merchants recently launched flipflop wines, a brand new collection of expressive, well-balanced wines that are a perfect fit with today's more casual lifestyles.

The flipflop collection on the whites includes Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Moscato, and on the reds Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. With seven varietals, there is a flipflop wine for everyone, which is why they say...to each, their own.

I received five (of the seven varieties) delicious bottles of flipflop wines for review. I don’t drink wine very often, but when I do, I like white wine. To me, they’re just lighter, fruitier and easier to drink. (I love to add sparkling water to white wine to make a spritzer.) If there are ‘rules’ when it comes to wine, I don’t follow them. If a wine tastes good to me, I will drink it with whatever we are eating.

All the wines are Instantly likable and easy going, flipflop wines are always delicious, never pretentious. Their winemakers craft each one to reflect the best of that varietal’s nature, creating expressive wines enjoyable anytime.

Riesling was my favorite. It was the sweetest of the wines I received. It’s light, fruity and nice to drink on the patio on a warm summer evening. I love that it pairs well with Tofu stir-fry (i love tofu a lot!), Hubby and I just drank it after dinner while we sat at the patio one Saturday night. At only $7 a bottle this is a bargain!

Besides offering exceptional value, flipflop wines also offers an opportunity to do good through its partnership with Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity dedicated to providing free footwear to those in need. For every bottle of flipflop wine purchased, Soles4Souls will distribute a pair of shoes to someone in need (up to 100,000 pairs for the first 100,000 bottles sold, where promotion is legal).
